The boys lost out by a single goal in last nights LFDA cup final at the home of Larkhall Thistle. They came up against Gow Valley who they knew would be tough oppposition but just failed after giving it their all throughout the entire game and lost out to a solitary strike just before half time. The atmosphere created by the Wishaw support was excellent and the sight that greeted the boys as they came onto the park was fitting for such an occassion, thanks go to Allan Sheridan for making club flags which he has kindly donated to the club for future events.
Read more...We may not quite have the accreditation yet from the SFA but in everything but certification the club is a Community Club. Our heart beats in Wishaw, we train and play in Wishaw, our teams are packed full of kids from Wishaw and the immediate areas around the town and the majority of our sponsors are local businesses who rely on the custom of the people of Wishaw. There aren't many people in Wishaw who don't know at least one of our players, coaches or our committee and they certainly will be aware of the club, and of the club colours.
So how big is Wishaw Wycombe Wanderers these days? Well one way to judge the size of a football club is on web traffic to the club website and in terms of the statistics on our Facebook page. As club webmaster I thought I would collate and share those figures for everyone to see. The highlights being that since the turn of the year we've have 15,041 unique users visit our website delivering over 595,000 page impressions in the first 5 months of the year, and our Facebook page reaches 54,029 Friends of Fans everytime we publish an article.
Each year the club relies heavily on the support of local business and every year local business responds with their generous sponsorship of the club kit, donating prizes for club raffles, and even in printing up flags to make our appearances at cup finals more colourful and just that bit more special. Please support our sponsors, as our sponsors continue to support the club.
