The game today was at Ballerup parks in East Kilbride against local team Claremont in what was near perfect conditions for a game.

Once again the boys showed how well they have taken to the eleven a side game by producing another excellent display from start to finish.

Unfortunately I never saw the first couple of periods but when I arrived the boys were already in a comfortable posistion leading by 6-1 with goals coming from all over the park and by difffent players but the more pleasing fact is the general overall play which was again was excellent.

WWW 92`s progressed to the next round of the Scottish Cup with a thumping 3 - 0 victory in their first match of the season today.
Playing against a successful side from the Forth Development league Wishaw showed good concentration to close out the tie with a solid team performance.
Their opponents had not conceded a goal all season in a four game unbeaten run however they were well beaten after a strong second half performance from the Wishaw team.

Sad Day For Wishaw Wycombe

Just in response to Graham's post on the sad demise of the 96's, I have been asked by the committee to post to thank Graham, all of his coaches and the players for all their efforts over the years. The 96's have been excellent ambassadors for the club in every way and Grahams announcement was met with a great deal of sadness from all of the coaches at the club management meeting last night.

Speaking from a more personal note I'd like to thank Graham in particular for all his help and support - particularly with the Prediction Competition fund raiser - and for all his excellent entertaining contributions to the website. I'd also like to convey my thanks to the players and parents of the 96's squad who over the years got behind each initiative at the club - whether it be fund raisers, or in collecting vouchers for the Kits for Kids promotion in the Daily Record.

Tonight, Wishaw Sports Centre is going to feel pretty empty I think.

SAD DAY FOR 96'S

It is with regret that I have to post this notice stating that the 96's have had to fold.

The reasons being because of work commitments Paul,Ronnie and myself could not give of our time as was necessary to coach the boys on a week to week basis and secondly we lost a number of players to other teams.

Could I thank all the kids, boys and youths who have worn a jumper for the 96's over the years and always gave 110% effort and commitment and mixed with a lot of ability, you made the coaches job easy.

Our thanks go to all parents , WW Committee and coaches from other age groups for there help and support over the years.

Personally I couldn't have done the job without the help and support of Paul O'Kane, Ronnie Morton, Ross Bulloch, Willie Gordon, Paul McCarthur and John McKenzie.

You never know , next season the 96's could rise from the flames!

To end on a high note Daryl Bulloch has signed Pro Youth for Hamilton Accies  - good luck Daryl!!!

For the last time

97s v Holytown result

Sundays game can be described in one word for our boys, Nightmare!!!

Lost the first goal within 2 Min's and from there it got worse.  Long story short finished 8-3 to holytown and how they deserved it.  Our boy turning in their worst performance for a long while.  No shape to the team, poor passing and no movement, so all in all we got what we deserved.

They 3 goals came from Darren 'scuba' Sneddon, Adam Mckinstry and Shane Cahill.

Much better required in the coming weeks or it could be a long season!!!!!
