The 2002s set out to Ballieston to play four matches against East End Thistle Blue on Saturday.
When the boys played them late last year at WSC the Wishaw boys had struggled against a well organised and very skilful set of boys from Glasgow.
This time Wishw gave a great account of themselves but still manaed only 1 victory out of four with two defeats and a draw over four games played.
Davie and Jamie's team were undefeated with a win and draw. All boys were superb with special mention to Lewis Griffin in goal for a number of good saves, Jarrd Thomson for holding the defence together and Aidan Hughes for his selfless play. Marley Redfern again cropped up with his usual goals (the ton grows closer) and Ethan Gilmour also contributing strongly in midfield with two goals one in particular a great finish. Along side Max Hamilton and Scott Tweedie was Aaron Waldie who is turning into a great left sided midfielder. Robbie F also as usual scoring efficiently from set piece.
Davie and John's team lost twice narrowly in their matches. However, player of the day across both teams was no doubt Craig in goals for them. This boy obviously has talent with a number of great saves. At last the team now seems to have a good goalkeeper in both teams. Goals for wishaw were spread equally between michael cahil (4 in two games now) and Ross Inglis. All boys competed strongly and were unlucky not to register more for their efforts.
Training as normal on Wednesday night. Times have been sent out for 3rd April at Tesco. 2002s allocated 10am to 12 noon with parents to let Jamie know if they can participate in bag packing fund raiser. Parents going to Sportsman dinner to pay for tickets to Willie. GAME ON SATURDAY 10:30 TO 12 NOON AT WISHAW SPORTS CENTRE.
