The 2002s faced up to the stern test today Sat 4th September 2010 in facing East End Thistle Blue 2002s. Last season both squads were very equally matched with some cracking games at both Wishaw and Glasgow. So coaches, parents and boys from each side no doubt were looking forward to four excellent matches.

Willie and Jamie Team Yellow
Two very exciting games with Villa away at Bothwell on Saturday. Wishaw very strong shooting up the hill in first half did well coming back from a goal behind from strong villa side. Hughes coming on as a sub scored with almost his first touch of ball and settled the nerves. Further goals from Hughes, Redfern, and Inglis gave Wishaw a stong position at the break. Very even second half with most important aspect from Wishaw perspective a further goal and hatrick from Hughes. In second game Redfern found his feet a little bit more with some strong runs and a couple of further goals. Also did well for Waldie's goal. Waldie's goal fully desrved for his hard working and skilful midfield play on the day. Inglis also scored a couple of goals which his strong running and general overall play making this more than well desrved. Today Smith not in amongst the goals but another towering performance. Assessment: this team does great stuff but needs to cut out the mistakes.

Match report for games vs EK Thistle 21st August 2010
Wishaw played 4 exciting games on Saturday morning against EK Thistle. Playing for first time on grass parks at Pather both teams settled down early to some lovely football. First game of new season brought some teething problems though again mainly in Jamie and Willie's team. Team blue under coaching of David and John had two victories the first fairly straight forward the second very hard fought. Goal scorers on the day Ethan 4, Robbie F and Robbie P 7 between them while Ryan and Lewis also popped up with a goal each. Special mention to Jordan who played a stormer in goal. Team yellow under Jamie and Willie won both games by odd goal in 9 and 13 goal thrillers. Great mention to EK Thistle for contributing to such exciting matches. Special mention to Martin who had easily best game in a wishaw shirt. Scorers marley (7) with remaining 5 goals split between Bailey and Aidan. Across all players from both teams there was great sportsmanship and plenty of hard work and skill.
